Join Katie Louvat for this gentle 4-week yoga program to address lower and upper back tension, stiffness, and pain by enhancing the balance and health of your spine and increasing your postural awareness. The series will include anatomy lessons so you can better understand how the spine is designed to support you as you move through space. You’ll learn to evaluate your own posture and identify habitual movement and holding patterns that may be contributing to your discomfort. Each weekly session will include a gentle and functional yoga sequence designed to balance the spine and strengthen the core musculature of the trunk, hips and legs to support lasting relief and prevent back pain and strain. Mindfulness philosophy and simple breath-work techniques will be woven into sessions. Students will receive hand-outs with yoga sequences so they can practice at home during the week.
Please note: This series is not designed for those suffering from acute injury. Please consult your physician before registering for this course if you have any reservations.
